If our new Viriginia Stacked Stone pattern seems very similar to our original stacked stone pattern, it’s because it is. Our goal was to keep the overall look of the stacked stone, but to make a few minor improvements. When using our
original stacked stone (DP 2460) on exterior projects and viewing the pattern from distance, a lot of the detail was lost because the stones are fairly small and in addition, some cases the interlocking keys between panels were somewhat
visible. To improve part of the issue, we are using slightly larger stones so that the texture and color variation stands out more from a distance. To improve the blending aspect between the keys of the panels, a thin mortar joint was
added. And finally, a tongue and groove design has been incorporated to reduce the caulking aspect required and to provide better water tightness aspects of the system.
